More Success

We had a banner weekend with the potty, which included several more poopies on the big potty.  I really think a notable leap forward is imminent.  I am so hoping she'll have some success at school in the near term.

I always assumed it would be easier to get the number 2s happening on the potty before the pees and so far it looks like I might be right.  Either way I'm a pretty proud Mama.

Back and forth

She didn't go down too hard with whatever that was last weekend, thank goodness... but then today when I picked her up from school they indicated she had a very short nap and complained about her belly and her head!  She reiterated to me that her forehead hurt.  After we got home a bit of tylenol took care of that pretty fast.

On other news for this evening, while on the little potty she tooted - after which she noted she needed to poop.  I moved her to the big potty and sure enough it happened!  That's the third time on the potty and since we went from surprise to resisting and now to telling me in advance that's pretty remarkable in my opinion.

Again?!

And ... she's sick, again.  Cough.  Runny nose.  Poor kid.  Her spirits remain high though!

Big girl, big potty

Periodically Avery prefers the big potty.  Tonight after saying she pooped and had not she opted for the big potty.  I heard a couple of toots while she peeped, so I encouraged her to sit longer and was rewarded with her first poop on the big potty! We were both very excited.

On a personal front, the full moon and friday the 13th had enough pull to wake my body for the first time in 6 months and I am actually having another period.  I felt discomfort the other day and have been bloated for a week, but didn't suspect a thing.  Man, bleh.  It is such a mixed feeling.  To have one makes me feel less old but the discomforts aren't fun.

A song and a meal

Remember when we fought to get Avery eating chunks of food?  She's doing great with many things and I've not had to worry much lately.  Yesterday I made mashed potatoes and she was refusing them (my mashed potatoes are often called whipped as they're smooth, like Mom's were).  When we did get her to take a bite it was triggering her gag reflex, what's up with that?!  She gladly ate the brussels sprouts that went with the meal without issue.  Go figure.

At bed time Avery continues to want to dance and/or sing.  Last night she regaled me with the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and a few verses of Old MacDonald.  She remembers a good bit of the words with some minor revisions which are incredibly adorable.  For example:  "Old MacDonald had a pig" (instead of a farm) and then when she wanted to sing about the pig in a subsequent verse "Old MacDonald had a pig _again_"  More friends continue to indicate that her voice is very clear and easy to understand.
