It's all about the keratin

Avery and I went to get a pedi today - her first one!  She also got her nails painted.  We match with a beautiful sparkly blue.

Later in the day Avery got her third haircut and first one away from the person I have trusted.  It was time to get the ends tidied up.

Bigger and Bunnies

This past week Avery got her second ever hair cut.  I left it to Avery to answer the hair stylist on what she wanted.  Hence, we have a little girl w/ hair to her shoulders. I could have cried when she went that short. I know it will grow back, but I'm a little sad.

This weekend had us meeting with the Easter bunny twice.  Avery remains not a big fan.  This of course makes for some fairly funny photos.

While we were out and about we visited with her Aunt Mandy.  In order to ride in Aunt Mandy's car we took along Avery's booster seat, which she got to ride in for the first time -- talk about a big girl!

A big girl do

Avery looks so grown up.  She had her hair styled straight (her choice), so I haven't seen how the curls look post-trim yet.  She was so patient and well behaved.  I am a proud Mama.

Snip Snip

I scheduled Avery's first hair cut.  I was looking at the typical kid-cut places and just couldn't bear to think of someone butchering her.  So I scheduled at the Salon where I typically go.  Avery will see my gal on the 6th of March for a trim.

I have been trying to use different products in her hair to get the frizz in her curls tamed down.  A bit of coconut oil works well but leaves it looking greasy.  Mousse did a nice job, so that might be my go to.  Either way I know she will benefit from a trim to even things up and get the ends that are constantly trying to knot up dealt with.  I will finally have a first lock/curl to put away.

6 from West Virginia

Well there are definitely six teeth through.  I caught a glimpse of the sixth one when she put her head back to play with the wind chime tonight.

We now have the top and bottom front two (central incisors), the bottom left lateral incisor, and what is either a top right canine or first molar.

Her hair also seems to be in a growth spurt.  It easily gets in her eyes, so I have been trying to get decent looking piggie-making skills honed.

I spent some time this evening going through her closet, pulling many 12 month items and putting the 18 month ones into play.  I t always makes me so sad, but at least she won't look like the person clinging to their two-sizes too small wardrobe while bulging out of it.
